Learning how to do sound with Minim Library

Some crashes had been registered, and many sudden shifts. Everytime i really bad crash happens, the act of making a “promisse” happens. Maybe promisses equal bail outs and they seem to work temporarily only too.
Money promises happiness. I’ve been thinking that maybe we can use money to turn it in other kind of promisses?

Final Outputs:
Graph of Personal Market
Love/Death Coin.
Promisse Coin
Graph:
Requires sound and projector. It can run out of a computer the code, or i can make a video file of it. Maybe Headphones are a good option.
Coin:
Projection over a rounded surface that functions as screen. The projection ideally is from both sides. The screen is suspended from cieling.
In case is not possible to install this i will make the coins out of fabric and clear vinyl, and stiching the peaks graph.

Based on the values related with my personal assets, i’m coding the graphs to be able to show the evolution of them during the period of Jan 15 to Feb 10 (so still in progress). When hitting the different limits of the values of my market, different notes will play and they will dissapear when crashing. The system used to graph is solely based in my personal high and lows but observing how they behave, make completely sense in the way my social relations and daily existance works.

February 8th, 2009ww$-jerryWhile working in the idea of creating coins that could be exchange for feelings or acts, i realized that creating coins that store the values i do consider worth some exchange or trade, was just following the same old materialistic logic. Therefore i decided to make immaterial coins ans stick to the idea of money rather than currency. These are basically the prototype as i need to finish the graph, to select the peaks of my personal market, to code the mountain on this coins.

The coin is meant to be projected over a white fabric surface made of a white scraps and leftover, from both sides.

February 5th, 2009general, ww$-christinaNo that’s not going to be the title of my piece… Right now the working title is PAY DIRT: Transforming the Economy. On the worm bin front everything is going well. The worms are multiplying and turning the contents of the bin to compost. A few squash seeds have sprouted in the bin even. On the investigative front all my leads have dried up. Tim at the bureau of Printing and Engraving still hasn’t send me the famous letter from the Treasury releasing to me shredded cash. I’m skeptical of Tim and will have to follow up. Total silence from the Fed on my questions about the environmental impact of the shredded currency. I will have to follow up with them as well. In the meantime… onwards. I’m uploading 9 sketches from my notebook. They are drawings that form a little narrative involving the worm bin. They seems to have uploaded kind of small so I wrote the text as a description. I don’t know why the images are so small. May try to re-load later, but I hope you can get the idea. I think I’ve decided against trying to make a video and will explain why on Sunday. As far as these sketches go right now I’m thinking I could make individual draawings to hang near the bin. Or I can make a brochure to go with the bin. Or I could even try to draw them onto the bin or onto a strip that goes around the bin so that the viewer would circle the bin to follow the narrative — you know just like an ancient greek amphora…! I’d love it for you to weigh in with your opinions about this, if you have any. Also thinking of planting a small houseplant in a personal safe box to be on display as well. I do waiver about whether the bin should just be there on its own with no embellishments. But I will arrive on sunday with some decisions made. Thanks for any input.

Here are the two layouts I am thinking of using for my family tree piece.
Each member of the family is represented by the geographical shape of the city or town they live in (cut out of mdf) . Mom and Dad are living in the same town, so they share the shape of Galliano, LA. Each family member’s bill containing the portrait and spice specific to that family member will be hung on the corresponding city/town shape (yeay, signifiers!).The third image here is the wallpaper I will be using to cover each family member city/town shape, and presently I am thinking that one bill each will be appropriate.
I’m thinking of using nylon thread or mono filament that I will color red as the connection or bracket line and also contemplating whether or not I want to write/type/paint quotations of or stories about money from each family member next to their city/town shape. I’m not sure that they are necessary.
I’m planning on the overall width to be no more than 4 feet and the height will depend on which layout I choose… and I need to come up with a title.
