and HexTC present a benefit production of Eve Ensler's Obie Award winning play The Vagina Monologues on March 19th at 2:00pm and 7:00pm at the Silk Mill in Union City. Cost $20 and up.

Featuring monologues in Spanish and English presented by a diverse group of women from the regional area and directed by Lillian Ribeiro the production will predominantly benefit Babyland Family Violence Program, "Project Protect" at YWCA Eastern Union County and "Teen L.I.N.K.S." at Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan NJ.

In addition to benefiting local anti-violence groups, ten percent proceeds will go to a specific focus of this year’s V-Day international spotlight theme, “The Comfort Women”. 


The goal is to demand an apology from the Japanese Government to Korean women who were forced into sexual servitude by the Japanese Imperial Army during World War II between 1932 and 1945.  This year, the stories of these horrific war crimes against women were removed from Japanese history and text-books. The Japanese government still denies legal responsibility.
